Combi heating boiler advantages
small homes can benefit from fitting a combi boiler as they need much less space than orthodox boilers. It is possible to set up a complete central heating and hot water system by purchasing only a gas powered combination heating boiler with a balanced flue. All that is additionally needed to heat your home is some copper piping and some radiators. Your first reaction maybe that we had forgotten some component parts. What about the water pump, the hot water storage cylinder and the feed and enlargement cylinder.
Surprisingly a combination heating boiler does not require any of these parts. You will have no requirement for a hot water storage tank, the feed and expansion cylinder can be left out of the loft, and the other petite components are already built into the boiler. Adopting this system means you can retrieve a substantial amount of storage space.
Combination boilers are not a new heating boiler design. The combi has been more popular in Europe than in the U.K., but is now being fitted more frequently as an alternative to the orthodox wall mounted heating boiler. It is has two main differences with the system and normal type of heating boilers. On the central heating side you still have a fully pumped system but all the heated water which circles around is sealed in. This gets rid of any demand for a feed and expansion cylinder in the loft. The hot water storage tank can also be given up as the gas boiler will have its own hot water storage cylinder.
The boiler produces hot water immediately as it is required, turning on a hot water tap will flag the need to the heating boiler. The hot water is created by the use of a highly cost-efficient internal heat exchanger. Water from the sealed central heating circuit is heated and is diverted to the hot water heat exchanger heating it up. In this way fresh mains cold water is rapidly heated before reaching the hot water valve.
Hot water supply to the radiators is a lower importance than the production of instant hot water for the dwelling house. Once the valve is shut and the need for hot water is eliminated the system will return to providing hot water to the radiators.
So in summary and combination boiler can save you a substantial amount of space in your home.
