Save with a combi boiler
Save with a combi boiler
As the globe evolves there is rising call for for energy and prices are increasing each year. One way of pruning heating bills is to review how you are consuming gas in the home. You could save up to 30 percent on your latest gas bills by installing a condensing gas combi boiler.
A central heating gas fired boiler needs to be able to provide adequate hot water to heat your home and provide hot water for laundry. Boilers have a lifespan of 15 years. New and replacement boilers will be much more economic than your present-day central heating boiler. You can evaluate the relative efficiency of boilers by looking at their SEDBUK grading, SEDBUK A ranking is the most economic at 95% efficiency in extracting heat from the gas consumed.
As your existing heating boiler reaches the end of its life there is an elevated likelihood that you will save on your heating bills if you replace it. This can reduce your fuel costs down considerably. The most well-known boiler type is a condensing gas combi-boiler which is well suited to smaller families who don’t need large amounts of hot water in a short space of time. Your hot water storage cylinder becomes redundant with a combination boiler which heats water on need. Hot water is instant but if somebody runs a hot tap while you’re taking a hot bath you may find that your hot shower becomes colder.
Other boiler types use a hot water tank to store hot water so that it is available in larger quantities later in the day. This is the most wasteful method and the heat losses are great even with a fully lagged tank. Whilst hiving away the water means that great amounts of hot water are available from the tank it will take up precious space in your home.
A gas combi boiler only heats water when hot water is needed and is consequently far more economical than central heating boiler types which use a storage tank. Another variant of the combination boiler is the combi condensing boiler which is able to extract waste heat from the flue gases and use this to heat water when necessary. The energy demands of the boiler are significantly cut as it reuses the flue gases warmth.
